I knew Jewell Green had to be some kind of amazing after attending her POSH Couture runway show at NoVa Fashion Week last fall. But a conversation with her was even better–this designer is down-to-earth, honest, and principled. Get the whole story via my Examiner article here.
But I have to share a morsel of her advice that’s worth taking to heart–many luxury brands are priced off the charts, and as style-seeking women, it’s hard not to lust over name-brand, beautifully made pieces that we simply can’t afford. Don’t go hungry because you blew your grocery budget on a purse. As Jewell put it, “you can turn a head with an outfit from Target.” It’s easy to copy a mannequin–use your fashion savvy and creativity to construct a truly one-of-a-kind ensemble that blends a variety of labels at multiple price points. Learning to balance costs and brand levels is truly an art form!
