((MANGO dress; The Limited belt; Nina Ricci sunglasses; Fossil watch; Zij bag; Aldo wedges))
Between the buttery soft fabric and the African-inspired print, this dress meets all my requirements for the throw-on-and-go category. Unfortunately, its versatility was somewhat reduced last week when it returned from the laundry room about a size smaller and at least an inch shorter than when it went in. I can’t say I’ll be able to wear it to the office again, but it still passes my skin-to-fabric ratio test. What’s that, you say? Glad you asked. Basically, it’s the concept that an outfit should be balanced in terms of exposure. If it’s short, give it sleeves or a higher neckline to maintain the ratio. Not a mandate, but a helpful rule of thumb that’s flexible per the occasion.
